PAPAYA BEAUTY SMOOTHIE RECIPE

Papaya is one of my all-time favourite beauty foods! In addition to being rich in vitamins A & C, they also contain a beneficial proteolytic enzyme called papain which helps aid digestion, increasing the absorption of skin-loving nutrients from the food we eat. These enzymes are also anti-inflammatory, immune boosting and detoxifying. Ensuring a healthy digestive system is vital to skin health - essentially, our skin is a mirror of what's going on in our gut. The addition of probiotic powder really elevates this smoothie to be the perfect digestive aid. It's also really hydrating so great for summer and you can use the inside of the papaya skin on your face as a natural fruit acid exfoliator!

Ingredients (serves 1-2)

flesh of 1/4 large papaya (or 1/2 a small one)

200ml (1/2 can) coconut milk

200ml water

juice of 1/2 lime

1cm thumb of ginger, grated

contents of 1 capsule probiotic powder

ice

Method

Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender & enjoy immediately
