SIMPLE GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE

I love having smoothies for breakfast - they're quick to make, easily digested and I like knowing I'm at least getting some vegetables before I leave the house in the morning (especially if I'm going to be out all day and not sure what will be on offer). The simple green smoothie recipe is just the four key ingredients plus whichever add-ins you like. At the minute I'm having mine with vanilla protein powder and bee pollen. The riper your banana before freezing the better but if yours isn't at its ripest, try adding a date for extra sweetness.

 

Ingredients

1 frozen banana

1 glass almond milk

handful of spinach

1/4 avocado

Add-ins:

1/4 tsp maca powder

1/2 tsp coconut oil

1 tsp chia seeds

1 scoop vanilla vegan protein powder

1 date

1 tsp bee pollen

1/4 tsp vanilla powder

Method

Add all core ingredients and chosen add-ins to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Best served immediately.
